Step 1 - The Eco-Schools Committee
The following is a general description of the committee: The core of SKISS Eco committee are led by KS4/5 green ambassadors from the Green council leadership team. They are Year 10-13 Students age group between 15-17. The second group in KS3 are from Year 7-9 age group between 11-14, and finally KS2 Year 1-6 age group between 5-10 years led by our Year 9 leaders.
The Principal of SKISS Mrs Margaret Rafee and Vice Principal Mrs Frances Baxter manage SKISS SLT (Senior Leadership Team), while our Parents committee who are also very active joins us every two months for the annual Eco meet organised by the Green ambassadors council leadership teams.
Mr Ed Baxter who is the Head of Geography started our first Edible garden in the SKISS school back yard this September 2016 and SKISS Eco Coordinator Ms Vivien Yap gives support to the Green Ambassadors while they work together as the voice for our student body uniting both families and surrounding communities towards sustainable changes in the making of our school to becoming a Green School.

SKISS Parents committee are very active and participate in every official Eco meetings contributing and sponsoring to all our activities. Example: Fruit Trees, Planting Vegetation, Organic compost and soil donated to the SKISS organic garden. Our SKISS families live in surrounding areas by Kota Damansara, Mutiara Damansara, Danmansara Perdana, Tropicana, Bandar Utama, Damansara Perdana , Petaling Jaya , Selangor

We worked very closely with Roots and Shoot Malaysia recent event SKISS participated in their competition held in Berjaya Time Square. The theme was raising awareness to endangered animals in Malaysia ' Wild about Arts" SKISS in both Secondary and Primary submitted this competition with other local schools and SKIPS had their work published into the national newspaper Star publication on their life size baby elephant where Skips students work together for three months to build ths 3 dimensional sculpture using recycle materials.
During our third annual Eco event held on the 27th April 2016 we invited Reef Check speaker to join in our event to complement our students English curriculum where the theme of their projects were about 'Campaign for Changes' one group of Year 7 designed posters , leaflets in their fight to saving Sharks. Recently this September we were approached by Gap force from the UK headed by Jon Essex, who offers summer and all year round programmes that is related to conservation and environmental causes. This will enable our young people to become global citizens and make an impact in our world.
