Earth Day is celebrated every year on April 22 where people take action for protection of the environment. All over the world events happen and it can be anything from planting trees to contacting elected officials, the sky is the limit!
This year, the theme for Earth Day is Green Cities. We want as many people as possible to join and together with the Green Cities campaign to take action on how our cities around the world can become more sustainable for the future.
Earth Day Network launched the Green Cities campaign in the fall of 2013 to help cities around the world become more sustainable and reduce their carbon footprint. Focused on three key elements – buildings, energy, and transportation – the campaign aims to help cities accelerate their transition to a cleaner, healthier, and more economically viable future through improvements in efficiency, investments in renewable technology, and regulation reform.
